print ad for the Scituate Skippers football annualThere are many players & cheerleaders, on both the Scituate & Cohasset high school football programs–who first honed their skills with SciCoh Youth Football & Cheerleading. In addition to being a fun family activity, high school football games are a great way for SciCoh participants to observe the game at an advanced level.

Here are a couple of games that you might want to add to your family calendar:

Friday, September 9, 7:00: Cohasset Skippers at Quincy
Saturday, September 10, 4:00 PM: Scituate Sailors at Rockland (season opener)

:: Photo Day #1 :: Sunday, September 11

Individual and team photos will be taken, at the following times:

10:15am (following 9/11 ceremony): Mite Cheerleaders & Grades 2/3 Football Team

11:30am: Midget Cheerleaders & Grade 7 Football Team

12:45pm: PeeWee Cheerleaders & Grade 5 Football Team

• Order forms will be distributed by the coaches
• Photo Day #2 will take place on the following Sunday, September 18

:: Game uniforms to be handed out this week

Uniform Distribution Schedule

Official SciCoh Shark game unforms will be distributed next week. Each uniform package will include: home & away game jerseys, game pants, game belt, and game socks.

REMINDER: all components of the uniform package are for games ONLY. (They are not acceptable Halloween costumes).

Here is the distribution schedule:
Tuesday, August 23 :: 
3rd & 5th grades, 3rd at 5:00pm and 5th at 6:00pm

Wednesday, August 24 :: 
4th & 6th grades, 4th at 5:00pm and 6th at 6:00pm

Thursday, August 25 :: 
7th & 8th grades, 7th at 5:00pm and 8th at 6:00pm

:: Mandatory League Weigh-In, Sat. Sept. 10 @ 10:30 am

Keep in mind, if your players want to play this year, they must attend. 

Players need to wear, their blue game jerseys (to be handed out shortly), shorts and flip-flops/sneakers. Parents are not invited (sorry).

Buses will return to Scituate High School between 12:30 and 12:45pm. 
Please be there promptly, to pick up your player(s).

WEIGHT LIMITS:

MITES (2/3 + 4th grades): 
At the official, scheduled weigh-in, the maximum weight will not exceed 105 pounds. If a player does not make weight, he/she will have an option to play as a Pee Wee. Rosters will be adjusted accordingly.  

PEEWEES (5th + 6th grades): 
At the official, scheduled weigh-in, the maximum weight will not exceed 130 pounds. If a player does not make weight, he/she will have an option to play as a Midget. Rosters will be adjusted accordingly.

MIDGETS (7th + 6th 8th grades):
At the official, scheduled weigh-in, the maximum weight will not exceed 160 pounds. Each player must make official weight. Otherwise, their name will be dropped from the roster.

Snack Bar
There is usually a snack bar at the weigh-in. Players may want to bring some money. If necessary, the eating of food is recommended for AFTER the weigh-in.

:: Saturday (08.13.11) is Football Equipment Handout Day

This annual event will take place at the SciCoh football shed, located in the Scituate High School parking lot, across from the baseball field.

Here is the football equipment handout schedule:

• Grade 8 :: 8:00 am to 8:30 am
• Grade 7 :: 8:30 am to 9:15 am
• Grade 6 :: 9:15 am to 10:00 am
• Grade 5 :: 10:00 am to 10:45 am
• Grade 4 :: 10:45 am to 11:15 am
• Grades 2/3 :: 11:15 am to 12:00 noon

(1.) Please bring your player so that they may be fitted properly.
(2.) We will also need a check, made out to Scituate Youth Football (SYF) for $300. This check is an equipment deposit and will be returned at the end of the season, when the equipment is turned in.
(3.) If you are new to the program, please bring along a copy of your player's birth certificate.

We have a limited supply of hoodies, flannel pajama pants, caps, visors + more.

Equipment 'Take It Or Leave It' Bin
Please bring along any cleats, practice pants, practice jerseys, etc. -- that may not fit your player but would work perfectly for someone else. No used mouth guards, please.
