SCICOH CHEERLEADING
PRACTICE BEGINS TUESDAY, AUGUST 6TH
Pre-Season practice begins Tuesday, August 6th, 5-7pm at Scituate High School (around back). Pre-Season practices are every Tues, Wed, Thurs, 5-7pm until the first game (Sept. 7th or 8th). Competition practice schedules will be posted when gym times have been finalized. Competition is open to all Peewee and Midget cheerleaders, but is not mandatory.
Please note that Cheerleaders and football players do not follow the same practice schedule.
Dress Code
Hair up in a high ponytail with no side bangs. Please wear a bow.
Wide strap tank tops or t-shirts only. No spaghetti strap tank tops.
Athletic shorts only. No jeans, jean shorts or jean skirts.
ATHLETIC sneakers only - no bare feet, flip flops, sandals, platform or slip on sneakers.
For safety reasons, absolutely no jewelry is to be worn.
Drop off and Pick up
Please drop off and pick up on time. No child will ever be left alone to wait for their ride, however, our volunteer parent coaches have family and work obligations and should not be kept late at the field waiting for parents to pick up their children. Also, please be aware that cheerleaders at the Mite and Peewee levels (grades 2-6) will not be allowed to leave the practice area sidewalk without a parent or guardian. If you are not able to pull up to the practice area curb, you must park your car and walk over to pick up your child. I understand this may be an inconvenience, but your child's safety is our number one priority. The high school parking lot can be extremely busy and is no place for young children to be running through looking for their ride. I appreciate your cooperation on this important safety rule.
Attendance
Attendance is required to ensure the safety and success of all teams. When girls miss practice it impacts the entire team. We cannot safely choreograph a halftime performance when there are excessive absences. Please make every effort to attend ALL practices. Excessive absences will result in exclusion from the halftime performance for the entire season. and/or removal from the cheerleading program.
Cell Phones
All cell phones must be turned off during practices. No calls may be made without permission from a parent coach.
Weather
If practice must be canceled due to bad weather, every effort will be made to contact you. Please check your emails, texts, voicemails and the website before heading to practice on days with questionable weather conditions. If heavy rain and/or thunder occur during practice, please come to the practice field immediately to pick up your child.
Bring your own water bottle
Apply bug spray before coming to practice
Use the restroom before coming to practice
Please see below for our rules on attendance, behavior, practice dress code and required Game Day accessories.
